À propos de la recette
vegan, gluten-free, refined sugar-free
Our kids love this recipe because they get to pick what goes in it, based on their own, ever-changing tastes. Have more than one child helping? Give them each their own bowl and divide up the ingredients so they can make their very own.
Look for the Kid Step! instructions for suggestions on how to include your kids in the process.
Bon appétit!

1 Tbsp 6.5g Cacao powder (optional)
½ tsp 2.5g Cinnamon
¼ tsp 1.25g Sea salt
Choose Your Own Ingredients
1 cup 150g Nuts and seeds (walnuts, almonds, pumpkin, sunflower)
1 cup 150g Dried fruit (cherries, apricots, raisins, cranberries)
Wet Ingredients
1 ripe banana
3 Tbsp 45mL Coconut oil or Sunflower oil
⅓ cup 80mL Nut butter (peanut, almond, macadamia, cashew)
¼ cup 80mL Honey or Maple syrup
½ tsp 2.5mL Vanilla
Préparation
Preheat oven to 325° F or 160° C.
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
Kid Step! In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients: oats, hemp hearts, coconut flakes, ground flaxseed, cacao powder, cinnamon, and sea salt.
Kid Step! Measure one cup of your favourite nuts and seeds (leave the dried fruit for now). Stir into dry ingredients.
In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the coconut oil. Add the nut butter and honey/maple syrup, stir until melted. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Mash the banana and spoon it into the saucepan. Stir.
Pour the wet ingredients from the saucepan over the dry ingredients. Stir until dry ingredients are moist.
Pour granola onto the baking sheet.
Kid Step! Pat down to spread evenly into a thin layer.
Bake for 20 - 25 minutes, taking it out once halfway through to stir.
Kid Step! While the granola is baking, measure one cup of your favourite combination of dried fruits. Set aside to add to the granola after it has baked.
Remove the granola from the oven and allow it to cool slightly.
Kid Step! Sprinkle dried fruit over top of the granola. Mix in fruit. The granola will harden as it cools.
Store in an airtight container. The granola will stay fresh in the fridge for a couple of weeks or in the freezer for a few months if it lasts that long!
Enjoy!
