Welcome friends! Bienvenue mes amis! "Catch Me in the Kitchen Story Adventures is a masterpiece of the imagination. This hour-long two-story show is nothing short of delightful, and enjoyable for the whole family. Toronto performers are flawless in their telling of reimagined versions of the classic fairy tales Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Lupus Maximus and the Three Little Pigs. The set is minimal, just a few wooden crates and a colourful backdrop, but that’s all that’s really necessary because the duo are such good storytellers (tales are told in English, infused with French words throughout). They are dedicated to bringing each character to life, not only in the way they speak, but through their physical acting as well — flawless . - About | CatchMeintheKitchen
In the beginning: play-doh and burnt granola A note from Audio Adventures Producer Ginette Mohr Several years ago, I found myself struggling with the fatigue that accompanies new motherhood. There were joys for sure, but it was in the kitchen where I felt most overwhelmed. Snapshots from my kitchen: Putting the milk in the cupboard and the cereal in the fridge. Scrambling to silence the smoke detector and knocking a glass jar of honey off the counter. Helping the kids make pretend puppy food out of play-doh and later fishing it out of the dog’s mouth. Painting with the kids and dipping my brush in my tea. Thinking the gingerbread house tastes like cardboard and then noticing it was cardboard. At these times, connecting with my friend Elizabeth Witzke was like a lifeline. Meeting for lunch, describing our kitchen blunders and laughing until our bellies ached, helped me feel less alone. Catch Me in the Kitchen unfolded for us as a creative response to the challenges of caregiving. Through our projects, we hope, wholeheartedly, to provide delight, learning, and connection. I’m incredibly proud of our work in creating our First Episode of reimagined classic tales in a fun and music-filled kitchen. I hope you have as much fun listening to it as we had making it! Yours, Ginette

Listen Lupus Maximus and the Three Little Pigs Story Sample 00:00 / 00:54 Two brother pigs come to appreciate their little sister’s ingenuity when she outsmarts “...the most handsome, most daring, most petrifyingly feared wolf in all the province of Ontario.” The Princess and the Pea Story Sample 00:00 / 01:05 A lonely prince opens his castle door to find a muddy girl standing there, soaked from head to foot. His mother, the queen, takes one look at the stranger who claims to be royalty and says, “Where are your jewels and crown? And goodness gracious, are you wearing pants?! Les pantalons?” In this tale, appearances are not always what they seem. The Tortoise and the Hare Story Sample 00:00 / 01:03 “What? You want to race me? I’m the fastest thing around here!” The Hare kicked up a trail of dust. The Tortoise took a slow, determined step. So began an epic race in a small Canadian town that found itself trending around the world. Commentaires "C'était drôle et joyeux. Je veux l'écouter à nouveau!"
